What we have been doing though for the past month so far is preteaching a lot of the words in the novel. If we can frontload teaching as many words as we can, then we won't have to spend so much time teaching them during the novel, and as a result, students can enjoy reading and not spend so much time "translating" unfamiliar words in the novel.Keithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12196810680408675365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8838882378909693892.post-1919617985374241872016-09-06T10:24:33.983-04:002016-09-06T10:24:33.983-04:00Hi, Jessica, I'm still waiting for the green l...Hi, Jessica, I'm still waiting for the green light to use the Spanish and French teaching materials to create the Latin TG. (The Latin TG will be a mix of original activities/materials and ones adapted from the Spanish and French editions.) I thought I would be spending my summer on it, but it looks like it will be a fall project. In the meantime, be sure to check out Martina Bex's post (linked in my comment above) if you haven't yet, as well as the novella-teaching ideas at Pomegranate Beginnings.Justin Slocum Baileyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15484612982798313825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8838882378909693892.post-63427561336087613042016-09-06T09:59:19.850-04:002016-09-06T09:59:19.850-04:00This is great! I'll definitely post about my experience(s) in implementing this novel. Will you do a further post at some point about how you might best use this text in the classroom - even if it is just links to games and activities you have introduced in the past. That would be very helpful to me (and probably others) trying to figure out how to best use this type of text well. Thanks. I definitely think you would write a fun story (after your coursework is finished, of course). tkantzeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12410803882699474633noreply@blogger.com
